We conducted the "Student Communities Civil Society Career Workshop" with our Career Center unit on December 28, 2022, in Istanbul.
The workshop, held under the motto "Inform, Inspire, Start Change" was attended by 59 students representing 36 student communities from 20 different universities.
The workshop brought together student communities from various universities including Altınbaş University, Bahçeşehir University, Beykoz University, Future Science Student Platform, Istanbul 29 Mayıs University, Istanbul Aydın University, Istanbul Bilgi University, Istanbul Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, Istanbul Gelişim University, Istanbul Medeniyet University, Istanbul Medipol University, Istanbul University, Istanbul Yeniyüzyıl University, Maltepe University, Marmara University, Art Community and Health Sciences University.
The program started with a training session by trainer and author Emrah Altuntecim, titled "Pareto Approach and 3 Keys to Success."
After the training, students were divided into 7 groups for the workshop session. The groups discussed the following questions:
- Are students and recent graduates aware of career opportunities in civil society?
- How should career awareness in civil society be created among students and recent graduates?
- What kind of environment do students and recent graduates imagine for working in civil society?
- What responsibilities should civil society take on for the civil society career of students and recent graduates?
- How can the relationship between student communities and civil society be strengthened in universities?
The groups discussed these questions from the perspectives of the private sector, public, and academia, offering unique answers and solution proposals.
We concluded the program with a highly engaging Kahoot quiz, where the top 3 students were awarded prizes.
